Certification as a Certified Gambling Counsellor (CGC) is granted to applicants who have a degree or equivalent in counselling, e.g. MSW, Ph.D., counselling diploma or certification as an Addiction Counsellor e.g. CAC ll or ICADC
Applicants must have 60 hours of gambling-specific training and 20 hours work experience, either volunteer or paid hours, at a recognized treatment facility. As well, your application will require a current Supervisors Evaluation and two current professional references.

Keeping Your Certification in Good Standing
To keep your certification in good standing you must renew annually at your anniversary date. Certificate holders will receive notification 30 days prior to this date from the CCPC.
